Provide technical assistance to IT project teams on subjects regarding the DBMS and related environments with significant guidance of other Database Administrators. Work with application developers and other Database Administrators to research, define and correct application performance issues with significant guidance of Database Administrators. Provide Database Object and application tuning recommendations with intermediate assistance from Database Administrators. Work with application developers to execute performance benchmarks of production SQL with minimal guidance from other Database Administrators. Assist in the enforcement of standards for all databases. Support in the implementation and support of application software packages and their requisite DBMS platform. Develop productivity aids using appropriate batch, scripting or programming languages with intermediate guidance from Database Administrators. Maintain Database utility to support DBMS implementations with intermediate guidance from Database Administrators. Provide On call support.
Requirements
Work experience should include 2 to 4 years experience in information systems with 1 to 2 years devoted to a specific DBMS platform and associated operating environment. Proficient in writing and evaluating SQL. Experience with Visio, Microsoft Project is a plus. Specialized training from the Database Vendor or third party education organization is a plus.
Education
Minimum of a bachelor degree or comparable job related experience is required.
