SummaryOldcastle Retail is seeking a dynamic Category Manager for our growing Lowes Lawn and Garden business.
The position will work out of our satellite sales office in Mooresville, NC.
The Category Manager will report to the Director of the Lowes Lawn and Garden business.
A successful candidate will work with Lowes to optimize growth strategies by leveraging relationships and data to identify opportunities.
The Category Manager must be a self-starter and an effective communicator with a passion for finding solutions and winning.
The Category Manager is responsible for managing project timelines and ensuring customer needs and expectations are met.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the customer and impact the business.
Responsibilities Proactively develop collaborative relationships with our retail partner To be viewed as a trusted resource for category insights and identifying growth opportunities based on data analysis Generate daily reports summarizing sales, inventory, shipments, etc.
Aggressively pursue opportunities using sales data and reporting tools Effectively communicate category management insights to internal operations Work closely with marketing team to ensure merchandise materials reflect program vision Actively support and participate in preparation of line reviews, pricing quotes and business reviews Monitor competitive activity and recommend solutions to counter competitive threats Lead comprehensive understanding of planogram and product assortment to identify strategic sales opportunities and meet customer growth objectives Provide support on new products and program launches Full utilization and analysis of sales reports and performance data to deliver insights and solutions Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis Lead the customer account planning cycle and new item set-up process Requirements and Preferences 4-year Bachelors Degree in Business/Analytics/Marketing or equivalent Impeccable integrity and ethics Excellent customer service focus and skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Expert level of Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft proficiency Sense of urgency with the ability to respond promptly when needed Analytical, curious, highly organized, attention to detail, and personable Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment The job requires less than 20% travel Knowledge of business intelligence systems (Tableau preferred) 3
years of experience in retail sales and analysis (Lowes and Home Depot preferred) Data analytics (forecasting, pricing, inventory, marketing, etc.
